More popular than Santa

Standard

My daughter asked her two little sons who was coming at Christmas, meaning Santa, and instead they chorused “Nana”.
Being Nana is the best.

Notice how Doodle, my dog, is never far from my side. He managed to get in all 3 photos.

A Holiday For My Soul

Standard

Today I hopped on a bus to Harrogate and then caught the train to York. I love trains but I especially love train stations. Have done ever since I was a little girl. The bigger the better. Once there, I took myself off to York Art Gallery for a wander round the new exhibition: Flesh. Some of it is actually pretty revolting. It left an impression though and I’ve been appropriately boring about it ever since. My husband, bless him, has pretended to be interested.
On the way back, I strolled through Harrogate town centre for a bit before catching the bus home to Ripon and calling into the Chinese takeaway for my tea. A perfect day.
Most of the eight hours I was gone from the house were spent travelling or sitting on platforms and in bus stations waiting to travel but, I found that very therapeutic and returned happy and refreshed. Can’t wait to go again.
