This is my little, bright and sparkly daughter, Harry, twenty years ago.
She’s still little, she’s still bright and sparkly and she’s still an awesome force of nature. Two decades on, she’s married with two children of her own and now looks like this:
Congratulations to Harry for qualifying to be an instructor of exercise to music. She studied and trained so hard for this and I’m ridiculously proud of her.

My wonderful son, Ben, perhaps fearing that I’m going to abandon my easel altogether in favour of days out with grandchildren or husband or kids, or in favour of the hours I spend wandering around museums and art galleries, or in favour of sitting in restaurants with my head buried in foreign language books, has made me a website as a surprise present. My daughter asked her two little sons who was coming at Christmas, meaning Santa, and instead they chorused “Nana”.
Being Nana is the best.
Notice how Doodle, my dog, is never far from my side. He managed to get in all 3 photos.
A change of direction for me for a little while. Years ago, when I was teaching myself to paint, I did a picture of two Cockatiels. For some reason, over the past couple of weeks, my eyes have kept straying to it. A hankering set in. A hankering to try something different. So, over the Christmas holiday, as my husband and I intend to spend most of our time in our shared studio (he makes model ships), I’m going to paint a series of animal pictures. By New Year I’ll probably be itching to get out the big brushes and vibrant colours again but, for now, I’m very much enjoying my new project.
